For your convenience, here are answers to the most commonly asked questions that we receive:

What protocols have you put in place since the Pandemic?

  • Extensive cleaning before and after each game which includes the lobby, escape rooms, bathrooms, and door handles
  • There will be two hand sanitizer stations setup on site. One station is located outside before entering the building and another station will be inside the lobby for your convenience
  • Extended hours in between games to allow for more time to sanitize
  • A partition has been added to the lobby desk
  • No walk-ins permitted

What are your hours?

We are open Wednesday through Sunday and are closed on Monday and Tuesday. Our bookings are by appointment only. Even though we have regularly scheduled hours, if we do not have bookings our doors are generally closed and no one is on site. Bookings can be made up to an hour and a half before scheduled game times. If you would like to schedule bookings during off hours, you can always contact us via phone or email if you have a time that works best for your group that is not available on our website or if you have any other questions regarding our open hours.

What is an Escape Room?

An Escape Room is an interactive game experience where you solve puzzles, complete challenges and decipher clues to complete the mission and escape a room within 60 minutes.

How do Escape Rooms work?

Groups of up to 8-10 people will work together to solve problems, uncover clues, and crack codes in order to escape as a team. You and your team have only 60 minutes to escape the room. Your Gamemaster will introduce the storyline along with basic instructions on what you’ll need to uncover to escape the room. During your gameplay, the Gamemaster will be available to assist you with hints if your group gets stuck at any point.

Will I be locked in a room?

No, we don’t lock any of our doors. If you need to leave for any reason, you can.

Are your rooms scary?

The only scary themed room we are now running is The Asylum. This room is intended to be scary and we don’t suggest that you book this room if are not comfortable with low lighting environments, loud noises, strobe lighting, and/or scary or gory themes.

None of our other rooms are necessarily scary, however there are exciting elements in all of our themed rooms that may provide you with a slight rush. You are never locked in to a room. We promise no one will ever jump out to scare you. There are no horror elements to our rooms. The exciting elements of our rooms are not aimed to scare players, only to enhance your escape room experience.

What happens if we can’t solve any of the puzzles?

During your game, you will be able to communicate with your Gamemaster at any point in time. If you get stuck, the Gamemaster can provide you with hints to help you move forward in the game.

What time should I arrive for my event?

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled event start time. Before your game starts, each participant needs to fill out waivers and briefly go over the rules of the game with the Gamemaster. This is not included in the 60 minutes of gameplay. So it is imperative that your party arrives at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled event in order to start the game on time.

Will other people be in the room with us?

If you want a private experience, you can book an entire room if you the max amount of participants for the given room, which will allow you to enjoy the adventure with only your group. If you don’t have the maximum amount of players and still want to have a private experience you can pay our private booking price to secure a private room without having to purchase all the tickets in the room.

***Note- A private booking does not mean that you may have as many guests as you want in the room. If you bring additional guests beyond what was initially booked and paid for they will be charged the private booking price of $35 (Monday- Thursday) or $38 (Friday – Sunday) per additional guest upon arrival.

If you choose to pay the public booking price and don’t book all the tickets in a room or pay the private booking price, there’s a strong chance that other people will book the other available spots. But that’s okay; it gives you a chance to meet new people which means that you can make new friends.

Can I take pictures inside the room?

Photographs and video recordings are not allowed in the rooms. We put a lot of time and effort into the design and construction of our rooms, so we don’t want to spoil anything for players who haven’t played yet. Lock boxes will be provided to secure your personal belongings.

Is physical exertion required? Do I have to be physically fit to play? Do the rooms allow for physical limitations?

You do not need to be physically fit to enjoy our escape room experiences. There is no heavy lifting or climbing required in any of our rooms. However, The Stolen Relic does have some physical aspects to the game. But no worries. Without giving away any spoilers, anyone who may not be able perform certain tasks in the escape room will be assisted by our staff in order to complete the task to seamlessly and quickly move forward in the game with their teammates.

All our rooms are ADA compliant. However, please note that there are stairs leading up to all three of the different entrances into our facility. If any members of your group have a disability, please let us know in advance if possible.

What is the minimum age?

These games are designed for an adults’ skill level, so it may be more challenging for younger participants without the assistance of an adult.

If any player is under the age of 18, an adult (age 18 or older) MUST be present to sign in every minor and purchase a ticket to be inside the room with the minors. The adult is responsible for all minors signed in under their name.

Children between 10-13 years of age are required to have parental or guardian participation during the event who must also purchase a ticket.

Children under the age of 10 are not permitted to participate in the escape room events.

All players must be 18 years old or older to play The Asylum.

Am I too old to play?

Well, we wouldn’t ever call you old. We would more accurately say that you were wiser. But to answer to your question, if you like to have fun and enjoy a challenge, then escape rooms are perfect for you regardless of your age!

Can I bring more than 10 teammates to Escape Rooms Connecticut?

Absolutely! If you have a larger group of 10 or more please call 203-553-9544 or email us (contact@escaperoomsct.com) and we will be glad to help you organize your event.

Can my team size exceed the listed capacity for the room?

No. We will not be able to accommodate any extra players beyond the capacity listed for each room. If other rooms aren’t fully booked, we will be more than happy to book the extra players in those games. Unfortunately, there can be no exceptions as our room capacities are in compliance with fire code standards.

You can make a reservation here on our website or over the phone by calling us at 203-553-9544. We strongly encourage you to book in advance because it will be unlikely that there will be availability on day of your desired booking.

How much does it cost?

However, in an effort to ensure the safety of our guests and to stay in compliance with Connecticut’s mandated recovery protocols in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, for the time being we will only be offering private games. The pricing will be as follows:

Pandemic Price – All games are private : $32 per person(adults, students, children)

Within 24-48 hours notice: Full booking credit toward a future game (no refund available).

Less than 24 hours notice: No refund or reschedule booking credit available.

What happens if we arrive late for our event?

We may need to reduce your event time in order to avoid scheduling conflicts for later bookings. If any team members of your party arrive late, they will be allowed to join you that are already participating in the escape room.

Will I be given a refund if I arrive late and miss participating?

Unfortunately, you will not be processed a refund if you fail to participate because of a late arrival.
